Soccer Finally!

With all the rain we have had soccer was a bit postponed.

Jillianne and Ireland each played their first game of the season today.

It was cool and windy, but at least it wasn't snowing like last years first game.

So the first thing we had to do this morning was go through our barrettes to get some soccer essentials.

I very much enjoy watching the seven and under division which Jillianne is in, because they all run and congregate around the ball, it so funny to watch.

This year Jillianne is actually getting into the game, the first two years she was too busy socializing on the field or picking all the clover off the field.

I wondered if she even liked going but she would tell me after how much fun she had had and she was smiling. I guess that's all that mattered. (Oh and they all got really cool snacks after the game)

Jillianne's team has come up with the name

BANANAS

and their pre-game cheer goes like this:

Let's play safe

Let's have fun

Let's Go Bananas!

Yeah!!!

Kind of catchy if you ask me.

Ireland has enjoyed soccer right from the beginning.  At first she was apprehensive about getting hit but after a few games, dug right in.

This year she has moved up to the thirteen and under division.

She is now on the big field and the games are longer.

They are quite competitive and play really well at this age, makes for a tense sideline sit.

Although her team didn't win today, she played a great game.

The night before her first practise she was pretty excited as to what number she was going to be and she said " Oh I hope I get to be number one."

When the coach pulled out her jersey and said "Oh, you get to be number one"

The smile that spread across her face was pure delight.

In other exciting news Kerrington, I and some friends went grad dress shopping last night at the mall.

We looked for about three hours and Kerrington tried on about five dresses.

She picked out a really sweet dress.

I am not allowed to tell any details or post any pictures.

I was told "Mom it has to be a surprise."

So you'll have to wait till June 11th for the big reveal:)
